painted with solemnity in cool judiciary hues –
with nods, on walls, broadcast in brass,

to “God” – who, caged inside this purpose-
built facade, accrues appropriately

into carefully dispensed, contextually filling
and persuasive tasteless legal gruel –

graceless but sufficient for the day or two
or three we have to greet it. (For a while,

we'll eat it.) Dissociative – manufactured
moral mist!: jury duty has a lurid beauty.
