What I Think Walt Whitman Told Me

As we grow more complex --
become much larger chunks
of pie -- beget new prominences
of fresh personality -- bloom up
so high through unsuspected
iridescence that we breathe the sky –

as we, in other words, get closer
to the moment we will die –

let’s not let go of anyone around us:
let’s rise together out and up –
remember no one’s not a genius.
Lean us toward your complicated
light, oh bright experience!
Remind us we are full of sight.
