I Asked Solemnity to Tea

I asked Solemnity to tea.
He seemed to want to be with me.

We took a walk when we were done
with Lapsang Souchong, and a bun,

and slowly all the streets grew dark.
It was then he made his mark

upon my soul, a lover’s bite –
which took away my waking sight

and dumped me in the heavy dim
which constituted most of him.

He brought me to his central spot.
He was lonely, I was not.

With force, I pushed away from this:
and fled his yearning, and his kiss.

Still reading every day. This one especially caught my fancy; found myself re-reading it over and over. Quite the saga unfolding in this little bit of beautifully crafted verse.
