What is the
higher self?
I say it is
the grinning thing
that leaps down
from its shelf --
cavorts upon
a handy stick
for you to
cart around
to shove it here
& here & there
until the
heaven’s found
that trembles
mutely everywhere
but won’t
reveal its glow
until the
higher self resorts
to putting on a show..
