If There's an End

To have the thing you love in hand
and know you must remand
it to its solo destiny –
becomes the fee

you have to pay
to keep the flow and sway
and breathing body and array
of trick and strategy in you alive.

Sometimes you think you’d rather dive
unconsciously into the end.
So as not to really know
there is an end.

If there’s an end.
